While the demo we played sported a bevy of guns, each with their own unique alternate fires, the weapon that we were most impressed with was actually the knife. Unlike most first person shooters, the knife in Turok is not used to simply swipe and slash away at your enemies. Instead a direct hit with the knife will cause the camera to shift to a close up third person view of Turok performing a brutal execution that will change depending on Turok’s position in relation to the enemy. We’ve seen Turok kick out the enemy’s leg and stab the knife into his neck, jump on to the back of a dinosaur and then slit its throat, grab a dinosaur’s neck and stab it in the eye, and much more.

Late 2007 and early 2008 is going to be huge for first person shooter fans, and even among big games like Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and Killzone 2, Turok does not deserve to be overshadowed. Dinosaurs will roam the video game world again when Turok hits PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles early 2008.
